City Paper box

Founded in November of 1981, City Paper has the area's largest readership of any weekly newspaper by publishing original, powerfully presented, award-winning editorial content. City Paper is blanketed across area businesses and high-traffic areas in Philadelphia, Montgomery, Chester, Bucks & Delaware Counties, South Jersey and Delaware.

City Paper is a controlled-circulation newspaper, distributed free every Thursday morning to over 2,000 locations. Approximately one-third are distributed through newspaper boxes; the other two-thirds are distributed in office and apartment buildings and in high-traffic retail locations which include restaurants, entertainment spots and other public places.

Every week City Paper tracks the pick-up pattern and achieves at least a 98% pick-up rate. This information, along with printing and other distribution information, is verified by Verified Audit Circulation (VAC) on an ongoing basis. Based on our readership study and industry pick-up variables, our monthly readership is 383,700.*

City Paper is distributed throughout the Greater Philadelphia region, with the largest concentration in Center City's business and residential district. It is a regional newspaper serving the neighborhoods of Philadelphia, its suburbs and southern New Jersey. Specific numeric breakdown by ZIP code is available.

Our distribution objective is to make City Paper readily available to our targeted readership audience — educated, affluent and active young adults, ages 18-44, who live, work or play in Philadelphia.

The current issue of City Paper, as well as archived back issues, are also available here at www.citypaper.net

Subscriptions to City Paper are available for out-of-town readers; please contact our office at 215-735-8444. Additional information about City Paper is available in our Media Kit.
